And creditably they did it even as they were reduced to 10 men in the second half, when Victor Anichebe got his second yellow card of the game.

Everton's defence stood up admirably to the pressure from Man City, after the Toffees went 2-0 up in the first 20 minutes. Jagielka who was outstanding ironically committed a solitary error that resulted in an own goal, thereby reducing the margin of victory.

Baines in the left back position was outstanding and Cahill lived up to his credit as the team's talisman by giving them the lead on four minutes. Interestingly, the Toffees had all their three goalkeepers play in the game, and the trio of Howard, Neville and Hibbert gave a great list of themselves, with impressive saves.

Birmingham, whose scheduled match against Newcastle in match week 18 got snowed out, last played in match week 17, away, with Wolves. That game ended in a 1-0 loss in a match doiminated by the hosts, except for the last 30 minutes. The Blues last won an away encounter nine months ago, and they were unable to rectify that description against McCarthy's squad. City's strike lacked the potential to breach Wolves's defence, with Bowyer and Zigic in particular having a bad day at the office. And that must worry McLeish with his charges not far from the relegation mine with about half the season done and dusted.

With three minutes of regulation time left, Birmingham had their only real scoring chance in a game dominated throughout by the Molineux squad, and Phillips squandered that chance. In the final analysis, the thin margin of victory does not tell the whole story of Wolves' domination on the day.

Everton, currently in 14th place in the points table, have had a mediocre home record, this season, winning just two of the nine games hosted by them. Birmingham, two places below the Toffees in the table, haven't had an attractive away record, with no wins to show for nine games, on the road, while drawing five and losing four.

Everton have established a 5-1 advantage over Birmingham in the last 13 league games played by the teams. Blues' only win came six years ago, when they won a home game against the Toffees, 3-0.

On current form, Everton should be hard to beat and Birmingham should considered themselves fortunate if they can take away a point from this game.

Everton had the following men in their beginning eleven against Manchester City: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Rodwell, Fellaini, Osman, Cahill and Anichebe. Bilyaletdinov, Saha and Hibbert featured as substitutes.

Birmingham's beginning eleven against Wolves had Foster, Carr, Johnson, Dann, Murphy, Larsson, Bowyer, Ferguson, Fahey, Jerome and Zigic. Beausejour, Phillips and Gardner featured as substitutes.
Premier League Match Time: Everton Vs Birmingham

Thierry Daniel Henry Skills

Bow Down to Happy Gilmore

I'm all for good-natured banter at a football match, but supporters are beginning to overstep the line. Harry Redknapp commands respect from all the major players in the game, such as Frank Lampard and Jamie Redknapp, yet the colourful manager endured a torrent of vitriolic abuse when Portsmouth traveled to Aston Villa.

As the match slipped away from the Villans, the Holte End outrageously recommend that Harry had bunged the referee. That accusation is entirely without foundation: Harry prefers goods inwards to dispatch.

The Villa fans went on to intimate that Harry enjoys the occasional stroke of the pink puppy. I wouldn't criticise Redknapp even if this was true, as it's an understandable reaction after Jamie.

A minority of supporters then disgracefully claimed that Harry would soon be behind bars, partaking in certain activities in the shower area. Not only does this slur wholly contradict their earlier insinuation; it's also downright offensive, and Harry will not be taking this lying down. We'll all have red cheeks if we miss the 5/2 for a Tottenham win over Pompey.

The travelling Villa supporters will hopefully show a wee more restraint when colse to Roy Keane, as his beloved formula of friction resolution does not involve complaining to selected media outlets. I'm spreading the word that 9/4 for a draw between Sunderland and the Villa looks pretty tasty.

When it comes to speaking to the Bbc, Sam Allardyce is also a total blanker. The Beeb fought back on last week's Match of the Day; they comically photoshopped a ridiculous woolly hat on his oversized head. I can't wait to get my hands on the titanic 6/4 for a Fulham win over Newcastle.

Team news is probably the singular most prominent factor in betting, after recent form or a nod from Kieren Fallon, so I'll wait for updates on Hleb, Flamini and Fabregas before taking an interest in the Arsenal v Chelsea match. Four of the last six Premier League meetings between the two giants have concluded all square, so I'll tentatively look towards the 9/4 for a draw at this early stage.

Birmingham City will right on have to develop their squad in January, and with Alex McLeish at the helm, I expect there to be a strong Scottish connection. Two names that immediately spring to mind are Miller and Becks. There is a player nicknamed 'Woodpecker' who McLeish would love to sign, but he's tied up at Chelsea. I'm right on attached to the 5/4 for a Birmingham win over Reading.

Middlesbrough are a riddle, wrapped up in an enigma, shrouded in mystery, situated in a hole. I'm praying the Boro will yield their A-game against the outclassed Derby at a larger than expected 7/5.

Lee Bowyer is on the verge of a return to performance after recovering from Gilmore's groin. It was a genuine surprise to me; I opinion he just had a tear of the adductor muscles. Habitancy should be falling over themselves to get on 15/8 for an Everton win over West Ham.

Dressing-room dissent is on the rise at Wigan. One senior player is already on Steve Bruce's back, and that's not a position I would like to see anything in. The player, who wishes to remain anonymous, has recommend that Bruce is a long-ball merchant. Paul Scharner continued, "If we don't change to playing football, then it will be very difficult." The only thing inspiring at the Jjb this weekend is the 11/8 for a Blackburn win.

I watched in nightmare last weekend as Stephen Ireland committed what can only be described as a heinous crime: he appeared to be wearing a wig. Call me old fashioned, but toupees are only thorough for the bald and the ginger.

Let's be honest, if Ireland is using a piece, and it remains reckon at this stage, it doesn't make him any less of a man. Only wearing a pink jumper on a night out will consequent in any long-term loss of man-points. Bolton have won their last three at Manchester City, winning them all 'to nil'. I refuse to cover up my interest in Megson's men at 4/1.

Life is full of wee coincidences. As Steven Gerrard was throwing himself to the ground in Marseille, his wife was getting turned over at home. There was also a burglary. I'm helping myself to the 13/8 for a Liverpool win over Manchester United.

I hope Stevie can recover from the trauma, as I need the influential Scouser to win the 'battle of the inner-ear infections' against Ronaldo to land the weekend accer. Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Tottenham and Liverpool are the selections, the payout is an increasingly plummeting 45/1.
 Bow Down to Happy Gilmore

Camera USB Cable Micro B 5-pin Loan to Value Ratio Calculator HDMI Cable 24k

English Premier League's Most Shocking Moments

With the notification on Friday that Alex McLeish was set to take up the vacant managerial role at arch rivals Aston Villa, we take a look at some of the other controversial moments within the history of the English Premier League.

McLeish to Aston Villa from Birmingham City

Following victory over wonderful favourites Arsenal in the League Cup, McLeish subsequently suffered a terrible run of form in the Premier League resulting in his Birmingham team getting relegated on the last day of the season. Although the board confirmed that he would keep his job, McLeish sent his withdrawal by email on June 12th amid rumours that he was set to join Aston Villa a role which he accepted 5 days later even though there were huge protests from Villa fans.

DiCanio pushes referee

During a game in the middle of Sheffield Wednesday and Arsenal in 1998, Di Canio saw red in both senses of the word. An altercation in the middle of Di Canio and Arsenal's Martin Keown led to referee Paul Durkin showing the former the red card. Di Canio, in a fit of rage pushed referee Durkin, who fell to the ground in an approximately comical fashion. Di Canio was subsequently fined £10,000 and received an 11 match ban.

David Busst injury

Arguably the most horrific injury the English Premier League has seen, Busst was playing for Coventry City against Manchester United in 1996 when he collided with United players Denis Irwin and Brian McClair, resulting in wide combination fractures to both the tibia and fibula of his right leg. The horrific image led to Manchester United keeper Peter Schmeichel vomitting on the pitch. Busst's career was over but he has stayed in the game with Coventry City as Director of Football in the Community.

Kieron Dyer & Lee Bowyer fight on the pitch

A true "handbags" fight kicked off during Newcastle's 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa in 2005. Both players appeared in a press conference after the game with then Newcastle owner Graeme Souness to apologise for their behaviour but they pointedly did not apologise to each other

Robbie Fowler white line celebration

After scoring for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby against Everton, Fowler used the white line of the penalty area to simulate snorting cocaine as his goal celebration. This was in reference to the accusations of drug abuse from a faction of Everton fans. Fowler ended up with a £60,000 club fine and a 4 match ban for his antics.

Gallas protest

After Arsenal threw away a 2 goal lead against Birmingham in 2008 after Gael Clichy conceded a stoppage time penalty Gallas instantly sat in the centre circle and didn't move. It was only when Arsenal owner Arsene Wenger consoled him did he leave the field of play. Some population say that he was acting like a spoilt child but the normal consensus is that his actions showed how much he cared about the club. 18 months later he moved to North London rivals Tottenham.

Adebayor goal celebration

After a summer move from Arsenal to Manchester City, Adebayor played for the first time against his former club at The City of Manchester Stadium at the start of the 2009-2010 season. The 4-2 victory for Man City was marred by Adebayor who, after scoring his goal ran the length of the pitch to the away end full of Arsenal fans and proceeded to goad them with his celebrations nearly inciting a riot.

Cantona kung-fu kick

Probably the most controversial occasion in English Premier League history was when Eric Cantona leapt into the crowd at Crystal Palace and performed a kung fu kick on one of their fans who had been goading him as he walked to the tunnel after being shown the red card. For his actions he was fined £20,000, issued with 120 hours of society assistance and was banned from playing for the remainder of the season.

Campbell going to Arsenal

Sol Campbell was for many "Mr Tottenham" during the 1990's, a huge defender and club captain. In 2001 after being awarded a compact which would have made him the top paid player in the club's history, Campbell switched allegiances and moved to arch rivals Arsenal on a free transfer. This of policy caused uproar as he had stated in the Spurs magazine weeks earlier that he would never play for Arsenal. 10 years on and Spurs fans still regard him as "Judas" and he is still regarded as one of the biggest traitors in Premier League football.
English Premier League's Most Shocking Moments

Car AC Compressor Troubleshooting Ricardo Quaresma Fan Club

Are You finding forward to the New Football Season?

As the new English football season gets ever closer, there have been lots of transfers already, and many teams are complex in pre season friendlies against other clubs, in the same or distinct divisions, against European opposition, or even against teams on the other side of the world.

Pre season friendlies are a good opportunity for fans to see their new players in action, and teams playing against the sort of opposition they don't ordinarily play against. The more cynical fan might advise that the teams that go to the other side of the world to play are ensuring that the sponsors name are seen by even more people, and that it's all about marketing rather than football.

Like any other close season, lots of players have moved clubs, and with a few clubs seemingly having the funds to be able to afford the best players, it should be an enchanting season again. But which ones are done deals and which ones are just mere smoke and ashes? Does it truly matter? Half the fun is in the speculation. Here's a break-down of some of the top replacement stories..

Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldo. It seems like Cristiano Ronaldo is all anything is talking about lately. Real Madrid wants him, and it now appears they are willing to pay out the nose for him. Modern rumours have them offering him a article breaking five year deal worth £300,000 a week. To make things more interesting, Ronaldo has said on more than one opportunity that he wants to make the move to Spain. On the other hand, Manchester United says they won't sell him "at any price". However, it has been said that everyone has their price. Only time will tell if Read Madrid is willing to pay United's.

Aaron Ramsey

The seventeen-year-old midfielder is being courted by three premier league teams. Cardiff City appears to be willing to let him go for £5 million, but the young star is still trying to determine which move would be in his best interests. While many population would see Manchester United as the obvious choice, his value at the club is a bit of a question. They plan to sign him but then loan him directly back to Cardiff for a year. The message this sends is that they want to sign him while he is relatively cheap, but that they don't necessarily have any intention of utilizing his skills any time soon. On the end of the spectrum, Everton and Arsenal appear to be offering him a spot on their first teams. It looks like the young Ramsey needs to choose between maybe benching for United or playing for person else.

David Villa

Valencia is having money issues and needs to unload their star striker at the cost of about £17 million. The key players in the battle over David Villa seem to be Arsenal and Tottenham. But just to complicate matters, Chelsea and Real Madrid have also expressed an interest in signing Villa. To make things more interesting, especially for the other teams, Villa has said that he would like to play for Arsenal, but he won't make a decision until after Euro 2008. It's a risky move on his part; a good showing at the tournament could increase his value, but less than stellar playing or an injury could hurt him in more ways than one.

Ronaldinho

If United was serious about not selling Ronaldo, Ronaldinho's request price of £200,000 a week would make him by far the highest paid player in the world. While his possible replacement to Manchester City doesn't seem to have the drama of the other trades, it could still change the face of football by pushing prices to never before seen heights. And since no decision is agreeable to everyone, population are questioning whether or not Ronaldinho is truly worth it. His carrying out this season was rife with injuries and time on the bench. Is acquiring Ronaldinho the best move for Manchester City's new manager? It seems a risk he is whether willing to take or one that he was given no selection about. whether way, for all appearances, Ronaldinho is probably development the move. Will any or all of them truly change clubs? Probably, but at this point, nothing is certain. While Villa and Ramsey will most likely be signed, the high end demands of Ronaldo and Ronaldinho make their transfers more important, but less likely. It will be an spirited year -football may well change forever.
 replacement Rumours Abound

Basic Stamp 2 Module Fernando Torres Fan Club News Blog
